TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (+3) over Detroit Lions
Detroit is favored, yes, and we don’t expect any alteration in that fact … but it’s our belief that Bucs QB Baker Mayfield figures to benefit from his freshening week off, and though we expected the Lions to display real improvement this year, we’re compelled to take this price.
Not wild about Detroit as a road fave, and seek to make the most of this chance with a well-positioned home ’dog.
The trey is a generous head start.
Seattle Seahawks (+2.5) over CINCINNATI BENGALS
Cincinnati is surely formidable, but this is a steep price to lay with a favorite led by a quarterback (Joe Burrow) who doesn’t appear to be quite all the way back to his optimal form.
Betting on the NFL?
Road-’dog Seahawks are looking to position themselves as favorably as possible for postseason glory.
Last week: 1-1. Dolphins (W), Ravens (L).
Season: 6-4.
