It could be this week.

Tight end Darren Waller did not participate on Wednesday as the Giants went through a walk-through practice, as he remains on injured reserve with a strained hamstring.

Coach Brian Daboll did not sound overly optimistic about Waller’s return this week, but Waller did.

“Just a matter of them opening up the window and I’ll be at practice,’’ Waller said. “Whenever that is, I’ll be out there. I’m just waiting the word.’’

Waller has not played since the Week 8 overtime loss to the Jets, missing the past five games.

Still, his 26 receptions are second on the team (to Wan’Dale Robinson’s 42) and his 384 receiving yards are second on the team to Darius Slayton’s 449 yards.

Waller has one touchdown in his first season with the Giants since being traded by the Raiders.

“We’ll see where we’re at here,’’ Daboll said of Waller. “Making progress. Getting closer.’’

Waller would give the offense a lift, although he will not be able to return to full usage right away.

“Definitely what I want to do and what I’ve been used to doing is like 70-80 snaps a game so to come out the first week, probably not that,’’ Waller said. “But as far as a number that’s solid, that can contribute in whatever way the team needs me to contribute but also be fresh, assuming that’s realistic, I plan on contributing if given the opportunity.’’

The Jersey tale Tommy DeVito is fashioning has reverberated around the National Football League, as DeVito was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after directing the Giants to a comeback 24-22 victory over the Packers on “Monday Night Football.’’

DeVito won his third consecutive start and did it spectacularly, completing 17 of 21 passes for 158 yards and one touchdown pass to Isaiah Hodgins.

DeVito completed 10 of 11 passes in the second half.

The Giants trailed 22-21 with 1:33 remaining and DeVito went 4-for-4 on a 57-yard drive, highlighted by a 32-yard hookup to Robinson to set up Randy Bullock’s game-winning field goal.

DeVito became the second undrafted rookie in the common-draft era [since 1967] to complete 80 percent of his passes (minimum 15 attempts) in a game.

DeVito, the pride of Cedar Grove, N.J., also ran 10 times for 71 yards in the game.

He has not thrown an interception in 87 consecutive pass attempts.

He is the first Giants rookie quarterback to win three consecutive starts since Phil Simms won four straight starts in 1979.

The Giants held a walk-through and every player on the active roster participated in some capacity.

That meant RT Evan Neal got some work on the field for the first time since spraining his left ankle in the Week 9 loss in Las Vegas.

Neal has missed the past four games, replaced in the starting lineup by Tyre Phillips.

The other players limited in the walk-through were CB Cor’Dale Flott (shoulder), DL Dexter Lawrence (hamstring), LB Azeez Ojulari (shoulder) and DL A’Shawn Robinson (hamstring/finger).
