Ravens rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers is being investigated in connection to an alleged domestic assault, with law enforcement agencies in Maryland and Massachusetts involved.

The alleged assault occurred in the Owings Mills, Md. area on Jan. 21, the Baltimore Banner reported on Thursday, and the investigation includes Baltimore County Police and a police department in Acton, Mass.

Both agencies acknowledged to the Banner that they were made aware of the alleged assault, but declined to provide further information.

Flowers, 23, has not been charged with any crime.

Acton Police did not release any information, citing laws in the state of Massachusetts that protect the privacy of victims and make communication between them and the police confidential.

Baltimore County PD told the outlet that it would not be releasing additional information at the moment.

The alleged incident had occurred a day after the Ravens defeated the Texans in the AFC divisional round of the NFL playoffs and Flowers was on the field when Baltimore lost to the Chiefs in the conference title game on Jan. 28.

Flowers was selected by the Ravens 22nd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Boston College and had been a name that was thought to be on the Giants’ draft board as well last year.

In his first season in the NFL, the rookie standout set franchise records for a first-year Ravens receiver in catches and receiving yards, while recording six touchdowns.

Flowers had another 156 receiving yards and a touchdown in the postseason.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta had told reporters after they drafted Flowers that the organization had done “lot of research” and “come across many more impressive, just, face-to-face prospects that I’ve ever interviewed,” the Baltimore Banner reported.

It was unclear if Flowers had any legal representation at this time and the Ravens and Flowers’ agent have yet to comment on the news.
