A massive day of cuts for the Bills led to two big names being sent out of Buffalo.

The Bills are releasing 2021 All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer and two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Tre’Davious White as part of several major moves to save the organization around $36 million in salary cap space, per NFL.com.

Center Mitch Morse, defensive back Siran Neal, receiver Deonte Harty and running back kick Nyheim Hines were also among the cuts as part of the cost-saving moves, according to the outlet.

The team also restructured pass rusher Von Miller’s contract, saving the team $8.645 million in 2024 cap space, ESPN’s Field Yates reported.

The Bills went into Wednesday roughly $32.5 over the salary cap, according to Over The Cap, and teams need to be cap compliant before March 13, when the new league year begins.

Buffalo is designating the 29-year-old White, an All-Pro in 2019, as a post-June 1 cut, which will save $10.2 million.

White’s contract will remain on the books for the Bills until then, but he can sign with any team that he would like to, starting as early as next week, according to ESPN.

Poyer, 32, carried a cap figure of $7.72 million for 2024, and the cut saved the team around $5.72 million, NFL.com reported.

The veteran safety had played in Buffalo for the past seven years and made a Pro Bowl appearance in 2022.

Poyer’s 2022 was hampered by injuries, but he had a much healthier 2023 and started 16 games for the Bills, recording 100 tackles and four passes defended.

He had 22 interceptions, 48 passes defended, 11 sacks, eight forced fumbles and 682 tackles during his seven seasons with Buffalo.

Also as part of the moves, Buffalo is also going to restructure the contract of cornerback Rasul Douglas in order to save $2.5 million, ESPN reported.

Douglas was acquired at the trade deadline from the Packers, playing in nine games and grabbing four interceptions.
