Could Odell Beckham Jr. be taking his talents to South Beach?
Last month, at the NFL league meetings, Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said the team had made an offer to Beckham, who spent last season with the Baltimore Ravens.
According to ESPN, Miami is “trying pretty hard” to sign the former Giants wide receiver, but the two sides have not reached a deal.
Beckham signed with Baltimore last year as a free agent on a one-year, $16 million contract.
The 31-year-old is coming off a somewhat disappointing season, having caught 35 passes for 565 yards.
It was his first year back since missing all of 2022 with the torn ACL he suffered during the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams.
Even before that injury, Beckham has seen his production plummet since 2019, which was his last year of over 1,000 receiving yards as a member of the Cleveland Browns.
Beckham, the Giants’ 2014 first-round pick at No. 12 overall, emerged as a star early in his career, when he was selected to the Pro Bowl each of his first three seasons.
Known for his playmaking ability and highlight-reel catches, Beckham was hampered by injuries in his final two seasons with the Giants before being traded to Cleveland prior to the 2019 season.
The Browns released Beckham midway through the 2021 season and he was picked up by the Rams, where he helped Los Angeles win the 2022 Super Bowl, although he suffered the torn ACL during the game.
That caused Beckham to miss all of the next season before his return in ‘23.
Now, he’s looking for a new home again and could be a fit in Miami, where Tyreek Hill added to the rumor mill, by posting an old picture on Friday of the two wide receivers hugging.
Beckham quickly dismissed the notion that a deal was done, though, posting that he hadn’t signed a new contract.
