The Rangers are just too good for the Capitals.
This is one step on what could be a long journey through the playoffs for the Blueshirts.
They took care of business at MSG, winning the first two games.
Now, they go to DC to try to finish off a sweep with two more wins.
At the worst, they would love to at least win one and close out the series at home in Game 5.
To react to the first two wins and look ahead to Games 3 and 4, we bring you a new episode of the “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast with Brian Boyle, Mollie Walker and Larry Brooks.
Up In The Blue Seats Podcast with Brian Boyle, Mollie Walker & Larry Brooks
- RANGERS TAKE 2-0 LEAD: Playoff atmosphere at MSG on Tuesday night. Sunday was a bit quieter, but afternoon games tend to have less crazy of an atmosphere.
- GAME 1 AND 2: Capitals looked much better in Game 2 vs. Game 1, where they did not do much of anything for most of the game.
- REMPE EFFECT: He scores the first goal of the playoffs. He’s played a factor. Who would have guessed it? That fired up the crowd in Game 1.
- PENALTY KILL: Rangers’ penalty kill has been tremendous all season and continues to be in the playoffs.
- EAST PLAYOFFS: Hurricanes in the second round should not have to happen for the Rangers. East needs to make it 1-8 instead of how the format is now.
