Virtual primary care company TytoCare announced that five new healthcare systems are adopting its school health initiative, bringing its primary and urgent care services to more than 2,500 schools in 31 states.
The Israeli company said Cone Health will add 12 schools in North Carolina to its telehealth program, Sentara Health will adopt TytoCare in Title-1 schools across Virginia and A Plus Family HealthCare in Kentucky will add its services to five schools in Edmonson County.
A company spokesperson told MobiHealthNews via email that the other two health systems will speak publicly about the partnership at a later date.
TytoCare partners with health systems to bring its AI-enabled Pro Smart Clinics to school clinics. Its offering allows clinicians to conduct urgent, primary, and specialist care remotely.
Providers obtain real-time data from patients in the community setting using Tyto’s connected device, which gathers readings from its otoscope, tongue depressor, thermometer and FDA-cleared stethoscope that analyzes lung sounds for wheeze detection.

The company also provides virtual care via its AI-enabled TytoCare Home Smart Clinic, which is essentially the same model as the Pro Smart Clinic but for patient evaluation in the home.
TytoCare received FDA clearance for its clinical decision-support software, Tyto Insights for Wheeze Detection, last year.
The software uses the company’s stethoscope to evaluate lung sounds and identify recordings that suggest wheezing in adults and children ages two and older. In 2022, the same software received a European CE Mark.
In August, the virtual home care company secured $49 million in funding, which it said it would use to explore AI use cases in diagnostic support and remote exams, focusing on its Home Smart Clinic.
In November, it announced an exclusive partnership with Idaho-based St. Luke’s Health System to provide virtual care services to the care provider’s members and employees beginning in 2024.
The company secured $50 million in Series D funding in 2021, a year after scoring $50 million in an oversubscribed round.
