Lionel Messi and Argentina are headed back to the Meadowlands.
After taking down Chile at MetLife Stadium on June 26 in a 1-0 nail biter, the club is returning to the Jets and Giants’ home field on Tuesday, July 9 for a semifinal match against gritty Canada — whom they beat 2-0 earlier in the tourney — to determine who will advance to the Copa América Final.
This match won’t be a walk in the park for the 2022 World Cup winning Argentina, though.
Canada is coming off a shocking victory over Venezuela in the quarterfinal round that came down to an intense penalty kick shootout.
“I thought that we took Venezuela to the limit,” Marsch said in a press conference following the match. “Our goal, is to try to push teams to their limit and see if they can manage us.”
And if you want to be there to root on Argentina or Canada as they push themselves to their limits, it isn’t too late to scoop up last-minute tickets.
