It’s official: Brian Daboll is taking over play-calling duties for the Giants this season.
The Giants’ coach acknowledged what most observers expected on Tuesday before practice.
“Yeah, I’m doing it,” he said.
That, however, was as much as he was willing to reveal regarding the decision.
As head coach, Daboll said he is responsible for everything, when asked about taking on extra responsibilities.
It was speculated that Daboll took over those duties from offensive coordinator Mike Kafka last season, though it was never confirmed and Kafka remains on the staff in the same position.
He declined to go into why he made the change, repeatedly saying his focus was on preparing to face the Vikings in Week 1 at MetLife Stadium.
