The Saints made a bold offseason move by firing Drew Brees-approved Pete Carmichael — the NFL’s longest-tenured offensive coordinator — after 15 seasons and replacing him with Klint Kubiak, the latest mind plucked off of 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan’s bountiful tree. Kubiak, who was the Vikings offensive coordinator in 2021 and a part of the Nathaniel Hackett failure with the Broncos in 2022, spent last season as pass-game coordinator for the 49ers.
