If you did not believe Joe Schoen could do the expected — take Abdul Carter with the No. 3 pick in the NFL Draft and then maneuver his way through the first round to trade up and get a quarterback, Jaxson Dart, on a blur of a Thursday night — you are not alone.
Schoen did not know if he could pull it off, either.
There are no sure things when it comes to trading up because there is another team involved and thus there is a certain lack of control.
Schoen had to identify a team that wanted to move back and several of his calls were met with “No thanks’’ or “Not interested’’ responses.
