No one expected the Denver Broncos to make the playoffs in 2024.
In fact, prior to the season, NFL.com projected the team would win just 6.4 games.
As we all know now, rookie quarterback Bo Nix outperformed expectations and led the team to 10 victories, including impressive showings against the Buccaneers, Falcons, Colts, and a 38-0 shellacking of the Chiefs, who were resting starters before the playoffs.
Unfortunately, the team did lose regular-season tests when they went head-to-head with major contenders like the Steelers, Ravens and a fully loaded Chiefs roster.
So, to make sure they’re ready for the NFL’s best this year, coach Sean Payton and Broncos brass filled major holes on the roster in the offseason. They signed tight end Evan Engram, wideout Trent Sherfield Sr., linebacker Dre Greenlaw and safety Talanoa Hufanga. They also drafted Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron.
And now that the team has officially announced its 2025 schedule, we know what kind of test the new and improved club has ahead of itself this year.
Big games on the horizon include showdowns against the always-interesting Dallas Cowboys (Oct. 26), AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs (Nov. 16) and a 1998 Super Bowl rematch with the Green Bay Packers (Dec. 14).
Plus, early in the season, the Broncos will take on the New York Jets overseas at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 12.
