The Yankees have the advantage on the mound in the last of a three-game set against the Blue Jays in Toronto.
Max Fried will aim to continue his Cy Young caliber 2025 campaign on Wednesday against Chris Bassitt, who has struggled against the Bombers this season.
In two outings, Bassitt has a 5.56 ERA against the Yankees, allowing 14 hits in just 11 ⅔ innings.
Some of the Yankees’ top bats have had a ton of success against Bassitt over the years.
Trent Grisham has two long balls in just 13 at-bats versus the former Met.
Paul Goldschmidt, Giancarlo Stanton, Ben Rice, and Jasson Domínguez are hitting .500 with six extra-base hits in 28 combined at-bats against the veteran right-hander.
Countering Bassitt is the Yankees’ southpaw ace, who has dominated most of the Blue Jays’ lineup over his career.
As a whole, the current Blue Jays roster has hit just .184 against Fried over 80 plate appearances with just one home run.
George Springer is the only player with more than five plate appearances against Fried, hitting better than .250 against him.
In two starts this year, Fried has been solid against this Blue Jays lineup, posting a 3.00 ERA over 12 innings.
