Brandon Graham finalizing deal to rejoin Eagles for 16th season

A familiar face will be on the Eagles scene soon.

Brandon Graham has decided to come out of retirement, putting on the finishing touches of a deal to rejoin the only NFL team of his 15-year career, according to a report from ESPN on Monday.

The former defensive end retired during the offseason in March — one month after earning his second Super Bowl ring in the Eagles’ revenge victory over the two-time defending champion Chiefs.

The time off has seemingly been enough for Graham, who appeared as an analyst on “Good Morning Football” and followed in the footsteps of former teammate Jason Kelce in starting his own podcast, “Unblocked,” during his time away from the sport.

On Monday night, the 37-year-old Pro Bowler teased a special announcement on social media that will be revealed on his podcast at 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday.

“Hey, what’s up Eagles fans. Tune in tomorrow on ‘Unblocked’. I got some special news for y’all and we got a lot to talk about. Go birds,” he said.

Graham was the longest-tenured player in franchise history and now will join for a 16th season to help a depleted edge rusher group in Philadelphia.

Without Graham and Josh Sweat, the Eagles had questions at the position to start the season. Yet, things turned worse when Nolan Smith Jr. suffered a tricep injury and was placed on injured reserve. He is expected to return after the Eagles’ Week 9 bye.

The team also lost Ogbo Okoronkwo to injured reserve due to a tricep injury after Week 4’s victory against the Buccaneers.

“If he were to come back, hell yeah,” Jordan Mailata said Sunday after the Eagles’ win over the Vikings, according to ESPN. “That’s uncle right there, uncle OG. One of the most important pieces we had getting a Super Bowl last year. I think it would just add depth and that pop.”

If Graham’s deal is finalized quickly, he could join the Eagles for their Sunday rematch against the Giants before their bye week.

Graham ranks third in sacks in Eagles’ history with 76.5. His first double-digit sack season came in 2022 with 11.
