49ers receiver Kendrick Bourne gets $500,000 bonus for catch vs. Colts

A second-quarter catch by Kendrick Bourne during “Monday Night Football” only picked up 11 yards for the 49ers, but it ended up being worth a fortune for the San Francisco wide receiver.

The grab officially put Bourne over 500 receiving yards on the season, and because of incentives he had negotiated with his team, he was made an extra $500,000 for reaching the mark.

There were plenty familiar with what was on the line when the ball was heading Bourne’s way as he ran by a Colts defender during the 48-27 win, including “MNF” broadcaster Joe Buck.

“Kendrick Bourne has made his bonus,” Buck said on air.

“If the family was worried about it, [49ers CEO] Jed York has to write a $500,000 check.”

Bourne, too, was clearly aware of the matter, as he made a money-throwing gesture with his hands after he got up from hauling in the football.

The Niners also shared a post on X recognizing the feat, writing, “On the money,” while adding a cash bag emoji.

Bourne actually looked like he had met his goal a few minutes earlier in the game when he snagged a Brock Purdy pass, but a replay review overturned it.

The veteran finished the night with three catches for 27 yards and helped the Niners cruise to a 21-point victory at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Bourne can get another payday as early as this weekend against the Bears, as he reportedly will receive a $250,000 bonus if he tops 600 receiving yards on the year.

He currently sits at 526.

With the victory, the 49ers (11-4) still have a shot to earn the top seed in the NFC and the accompanying home-field advantage if they win their next two games against the Bears and Seahawks.
