Brian Cashman wasn’t mincing words about the Yankees’ free fall.
On Wednesday, when asked if he was shocked about the state of the team — which has now lost nine games in a row — the Yankees general manager called the year “a disaster.”
“It’s been a disaster this season,” the Yankees general manager said. “Yeah, definitely a shock. Certainly, I don’t think anybody on our side of the fence from our player group from our coaches, our manager — even outside the organization would’ve predicted this.”
After losing Tuesday night to the Nationals, the Yankees enter Wednesday’s game at 60-65, 17 games back in the American League East and 10 out of a wild-card spot.
