Baseball Hall of Famer and Orioles legend Brooks Robinson died Tuesday, the team announced.
He was 86 years old.
“We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Brooks Robinson,” the team said in a statement on X. “An integral part of our Orioles Family since 1955, he will continue to leave a lasting impact on our club, our community, and the sport of baseball.”
Robinson, who spent his entire 23-year career with the Orioles, is widely recognized as one of the greatest defensive third basemen of all time, racking up 16 Gold Gloves.
An 18-time All-Star, Robinson won the American League MVP in 1964 and World Series MVP in 1970.
He finished his career with a .267/.322/401 slash line with 268 home runs.
He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983.
