As Aaron Glenn stood in a cramped interview room at Highmark Stadium moments after his Jets lost 35-8 to a bunch of Bills backups in the season finale, he asked for something.
“There’s got to be trust, there’s got to be faith,” Glenn said.
It was a plea to Jets fans to not give up on him. It was an appeal to maintain belief in him that he could be the one to conquer the team’s losing demons.
That loss came four weeks ago, and since then Glenn has fired several assistant coaches, including offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand, and overseen a meandering search for a defensive coordinator that led to unknown Brian Duker taking the job title but Glenn seemingly taking the job responsibilities.
