Alvin Kamara appeared as stunned as many others after the Saints shockingly released one of their All-Pros.

New Orleans chose to cut ties with special teams ace J.T. Gray on Monday.

Aaron Judge’s Yankees outfield situation still has more questions than answers

It didn’t take long after Saints beat writer Nick Underhill broke the news for Kamara to seemingly react on X with just three letters.

“Wtf,” the star running back wrote and nothing else.

It’s easy to see why Kamara would find the news jolting as Gray spent all seven of his NFL seasons with the Saints and was named an All-Pro three times on special teams, including to the first team in 2021.

He was particularly productive throughout his career, with 103 tackles in 98 games and playing 84.3 percent of the team’s special team snaps last season. Gray has also played 153 defensive snaps at safety.

The 29-year-old was owed $2.6 million on the final year of his contract.

The Saints, who are still run by longtime GM Mickey Loomis, are in their first season on new head coach Kellen Moore, who is coming over after winning a Super Bowl as the Eagles offensive coordinator.

Kamara, set to begin his eighth season in New Orleans, is still expected to be a major weapon in the Saints offense, now led by quarterback Spencer Rattler — after Derek Carr’s stunning retirement due to injury.

The 2017 third-round pick totaled 1,493 yards from scrimmage last season, his most since 2020 to go along with six running touchdowns and two receiving as New Orleans went a disappointing 5-12.

The now 30-year-old Kamara hasn’t made a Pro Bowl since 2021.
