Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife Emily Mayfield’s family is growing.
The couple announced they’re expecting a baby boy, their second child, in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday.
“New addition coming April 2026, and we couldn’t feel luckier 💙,” they wrote, including a carousel of family photos with their daughter, Kova Jade, born in April 2024.
One adorable snapshot shows Kova wearing a “Big Sis” sweatshirt and holding an ultrasound image.
The Pro Bowl signal-caller and the influencer are in awe while reacting to a blue cake in other photos.
Mayfield and Emily have been married since 2019.
They were introduced by a mutual friend in 2017 and were engaged six months later.
During an interview with ESPN last month, Emily gushed over him as a father.
“I’ve always said it… Baker is… not for everyone,” Emily said. “He’s a little polarizing on the field… but he is such a softie.
“So I knew he ‘d be a good dad. He has that little girl wrapped around his finger.”

Mayfield also explained that Emily turned him down at first.
“[Our mutual friend] Patrick, of course being a good friend, asked her if I could have her number, she said no,’” Mayfield recalled.
“So I went to Instagram [and] hit the follow button, no follow back — hit the unfollow button, hit the follow again, no follow back. [I] tried to slide in the DMs. no response. At this point, I’m feeling pretty rejected.
“Finally [Emily] gave Patrick the OK that I could get your number.”

Emily chimed in.
“We had lunch and the entire time he was asking questions about me [and] about my family. It was not the Baker show,” she said.
“… So afterwards I went home and texted my mom and sister and I was like, ‘I think I might marry this guy.’ I just had this weird gut feeling.”
Mayfield said he went back to his hotel and told his roommate he was going to marry Emily.
“We hit it off and six months later, we were engaged,” he said.
Mayfield, who was selected first overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 NFL draft, signed a three-year, $100 million contract with the Buccaneers in March 2024.
Tampa Bay is 6-4 and still leading the NFC South, after its loss to the Bills on Sunday.
