The Bills brought in a former Chiefs Super Bowl hero.

Buffalo, which has needed help at receiver for most of the season, signed Mecole Hardman on Monday after striking out at the trade deadline in the quest for help at the position.

The Bills followed that up with their most dismal offensive performance of the season, getting pummeled 30-13 by the 3-7 Dolphins. Buffalo did not score until the fourth quarter.

Hardman will begin with the Bills’ practice squad, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who adds that Hardman will then have a chance to make the active 53-man roster.

He had been on the Packers’ practice squad earlier this year and was looking for a new job after being cut in September.

The 2019 second-round draft pick fits in with the Bills’ quest to get faster at this year’s trade deadline, as reports stated that the Bills attempted to trade for Dolphins star Jaylen Waddle.

Hardman, 27, scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime against the 49ers in Super Bowl Super Bowl LVIII.

The three-time Super Bowl champ actually started that 2023-’24 campaign with the Jets before things went south in New York, leading to a trade back to the Chiefs.

Mostly a gadget player in Kansas City, the Chiefs hoped that Hardman was going to be a replacement-type player for Tyreek Hill after he was traded to the Dolphins ahead of the 2022 season.

That has not been the case, as Hardman has never had a season with more than 700 receiving yards spanning the first six years of his career.

Kansas City moved on in short order when the team selected speedy receiver Xavier Worthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Buffalo hasn’t had that same benefit, though, as its receiving corps featuring Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid has been inconsistent this year.
