The fans involved in the viral video, in which a Brewers fan suggested other fans “call ICE” on a Dodgers fan, have been banned from future events at American Family Field following the incident.
Both the female Brewers fan who made the comment, Shannon Kobylarczyk, and Ricardo Fosado, the Latino Dodgers fan the remark was made toward, have been outlawed from the Milwaukee stadium over the incident, the Brewers said in a statement on Thursday.
“The Brewers expect all persons attending games to be respectful of each other, and we do not condone in any way offensive statements fans make to each other about race, gender, or national origin. Our priority is to ensure that all in attendance have a safe and enjoyable experience at the ballpark,” the team said in a statement issued to multiple outlets.
“In this instance, the Milwaukee Police Department dealt with the individual who was ejected for actions apart from the events depicted in this video, including disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
“Separately, video shows that the other individual involved in the argument became physical in the course of her interactions with the person who was ejected.
“For these reasons and in accordance with our Guest Code of Conduct specific to ejections and physical confrontations, both fans are being notified that they are not allowed to return to the ballpark for future events.”
The statement did not identify either party by name, but Kobylarczyk has been identified as the woman in the video who tapped on the shoulder of a separate Brewers fan and told them, “You know what, call ICE.”
The comment was in reference to the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and came after Fosado, who is an LA resident and was on a business trip, had started recording, asking Milwaukee fans around him why they were so “quiet.”
Kobylawczyk did not take kindly to that and retorted, “Real men drink beer, p—y,” before making the racially charged comment.
Fosado is of Mexican heritage and a U.S. citizen who served in the Navy from 2001-05, serving in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
Kobylawczyk was reportedly fired from her job with ManpowerGroup and resigned from her role with the Wisconsin board of directors at Make-A-Wish.
Fosado told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he didn’t think that Kobylawczyk should get fired from her job over the incident and said that “I feel bad for her.”
He told the outlet that Kobylarczyk had reported him to stadium security, and he was removed from the venue.
Fosado had said there had been banter “back and forth” between fans the entire time and indicated that “it wasn’t disrespectful.”
“This is my first time at a Brewers game and I got kicked out, but you know what?” Fosado said. “I had a great experience and everybody was really friendly and welcoming. So I don’t take that one incident and label the whole entire day bad.”
