For so many games across so many seasons, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have made these plays — like the second-and-goal from the 6-yard line Sunday — look routine.
But instead of connecting for a touchdown, Kelce bobbled the ball and allowed for Andrew Mukuba to intercept it.
Instead of Kansas City snagging a 17-13 lead in the Super Bowl 2025 rematch, the Eagles, after Mukuba’s return, took over at their own 41 and proceeded to march 10 plays and 59 yards for a touchdown of their own.
And that eventually allowed Philadelphia to escape Arrowhead Stadium with a 20-17 win, improving to 2-0 while the Chiefs dropped to 0-2 with Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, in attendance after a making a quiet entrance.
Saquon Barkley rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown, while Jalen Hurts, limited to just 101 yards through the air, also rushed for a score.
Kelce led Kansas City with 61 receiving yards, but its offense struggled for a second consecutive week.
Mahomes lost three consecutive games, including last season’s Super Bowl, for the first time in his NFL career.
