Three vehicles belonging to new Miami quarterback Carson Beck and his girlfriend, Hurricanes guard Hanna Cavinder, were stolen in South Florida on Wednesday, according to a new report.
Andy Slater of Fox Sports reported Thursday morning that the 22-year-old Beck — who recently transferred from Georgia to Miami after reversing course on this year’s NFL draft — had both of his cars taken, with police now attempting to locate his Lamborghini and Mercedes.
An SUV belonging to Cavinder, 24, who was first linked to Beck last year, has since been discovered.
Thursday’s troubling news adds to a staggering development in recent months with high-profile athletes being targeted in burglaries.
The homes of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his teammate, Travis Kelce, were burglarized in October. About $20,000 worth of cash was taken in the incident that unfolded at Kelce’s residence, according to TMZ.
The Ohio residence of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was broken into in December when he was on the road for a “Monday Night Football” clash in Dallas.
A group of Chilean nationals has since been charged in connection to the string of robberies, with selfies helping the FBI track them down.
The matter surrounding Beck and Cavinder comes roughly a month after the quarterback transferred to Miami following five seasons at Georgia.
He initially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft in December, the same month he injured his throwing elbow in Georgia’s SEC Championship win over Texas.
Beck took over as Georgia’s starting quarterback in 2023 following the Bulldogs’ championship runs with Stetson Bennett in 2021 and ’22.
Although he threw for 3,941 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions in his first season under center, Beck’s interceptions doubled to 12 in 2024, when he tossed for 3,485 yards and 28 touchdowns.
As for Cavinder, one half of the social media duo that also boasts twin sister Haley, she announced her return to Miami in April after a year-long break.
She and Haley were part of the Hurricane’s run to the Elite Eight in the 2023 NCAA tournament.
Miami is just 13-12 overall and 3-11 in ACC play this season.
