The CBS halftime show had some technical difficulties that turned the on-site studio at M&T Bank Stadium into a club.
First, the crew was forced to do part of the show in the dark after the lights on the set wouldn’t turn on.
Then when the issue was finally fixed, the lights were blinking on and off giving off a dance club vibe that even Boomer Esiason couldn’t help but make a joke about.
“I feel like I’m in a club,” Esiason joked as the lights settled and a T-Pain performance was taking place on the field.
After that, the lighting issue appeared to be over, but viewers at home had a field day with the technical issues and the number of panelists that CBS had on-site for the AFC title game.
The network had six on-air personalities on the set for the Ravens-Chiefs.
“To make room for the all important 6th man on the halftime show, CBS decided not to bring any lights,” one person chimed in on X.
“Welcome to the CBS Halftime Show brought to you be the overcrowded Witness Projection Program,” another joked.
“Clark Griswold was running the lights for the #CBS AFC Championship game halftime show,” a third person wrote.
Others were quick to break out the Bane memes and gifs from the “Dark Knight Rises” film.
While comical, it didn’t rise to the disaster that was the AFC Championship game halftime of two years ago when they were in Kansas City and analysts were barely audible because of a concert going on behind them.
The Chiefs punched their ticket to their fourth Super Bowl in five years on Sunday after they defeated the Ravens 17-10.
Kansas City will go to Las Vegas to face either the Lions or 49ers for a chance to become the first back-to-back Super Bowl winner since the Patriots did it 19 years ago.
