Olivia Culpo is “steering the ship” with wedding plans, according to the model’s fiancé, 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.
When discussing the couple’s upcoming nuptials during the Super Bowl 2024 “Opening Night” festivities at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas — where the 49ers will face the Chiefs in Sunday’s championship contest — McCaffrey shared some insight on the couple’s big day.
“She’s done a hell of a job,” McCaffrey gushed of Culpo on Monday, according to to “Extra.”
“She’s definitely steering the ship when it comes to anything regarding the wedding as of now, but I give my input when needed, but obviously her style is unbelievable and everything she wants I also like, so it’s going really well. I’m so thankful I have someone like her who’s not just supporting me the way she is, but also handling all stuff like that, allowing me to do what I love in the moment while she’s still working on her career as well.”
McCaffrey, who proposed to Culpo in April 2023 after nearly four years of dating, then teased, “I’m sure you guys will see plenty coming soon.”
Culpo, 31, and McCaffrey, 27, celebrated their engagement over the summer with a lavish party in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit alum’s native Rhode Island.
The model then traveled to Mexico for her bachelorette party in November.
Culpo and McCaffrey began dating in 2019 while he was still a member of the Panthers.
He was traded to the 49ers in October 2022 and is currently in his first full season in San Francisco.
Culpo was in the stands at Levi’s Stadium last month when the 49ers clinched a Super Bowl berth after a thrilling comeback win over the Lions in the NFC Championship.
“You deserve it all Christian,” Culpo posted on Instagram after the 34-31 victory. “I love you so so much.”
Culpo will be in Las Vegas to cheer on McCaffrey, who is making his first Super Bowl appearance.

The former first-round pick also confirmed to “Extra” that he punted the bride-to-be’s plans to pay for a suite at Allegiant Stadium after his mom, Lisa McCaffrey, revealed the prices were too expensive.
“She tried to, but I will not let anybody pay to watch me play,” McCaffrey said. “I had to nix that. She tried to but, I’m not letting anyone pay to watch me play.”
Suites for Super Bowl 2024 are expected to cost between $1.4 million and $2.5 million on average, according to the Suite Experience Group, which helps provide access to luxurious accommodations at concerts and sporting events.
The big game gets underway Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
