The lone game on the Friday college football card takes place in Philadelphia in what looks like a complete mismatch between SMU and Temple.
The visiting Mustangs are sitting as 21-point favorites, looking for their fifth win of the season.
SMU has started AAC play at 2-0 after beating both Charlotte and East Carolina by double digits, capped off by a 31-10 blowout of the Pirates last Friday night.
Temple’s defense has struggled of late by allowing 41 points or more in each of the past four games, all losses.
The Owls hung with North Texas for a half last week, trailing 24-14, but the Mean Green outscored Temple in the second half, 21-0 for a 45-14 blowout win.
Temple owns a dreadful 0-6 against-the-spread record in games when facing FBS opponents this season.
However, the Owls have been listed as an underdog of more than 17 points once this season as they were routed at home by Miami, 41-7.
SMU has compiled a 3-1 ATS mark this season as a double-digit favorite, while facing several weak offenses in league play so far.
These teams haven’t faced each other since 2020 when SMU rolled past Temple as 17-point road favorites, 47-23.
Betting on College Football?
SMU should cruise toward the AAC title game with an easy schedule ahead, but the Mustangs are riding a 1-6 ATS mark since last season on the road in the first half.
It’s tough to trust Temple for an entire game, but let’s back the Owls in the first half to hang with the Mustangs at home.
The play: Temple 1st Half (+10.5).
