Shedeur Sanders is trying his hand as a rapper.
After teasing the song for months, the Colorado quarterback finally released his first-ever rap song, “Perfect Timing,” on Tuesday.
The song runs two minutes long and features Sanders rapping about jewelry, watches, luxury cars and making money.
“They told me bust out my AP, perfect timing,” Sanders raps to open the song.
“It’s never hot around my jewelry, chains are climbing,” he raps later on in the verse. “I went and got that new Maybach I stay grindin.”
Sanders had teased out a clip of the song in September, On3 reported, and he had also posted on X in December about when he should put the song out.
Social media was not kind in response to a post on X about the song from On3.
“This is gonna go platinum on opposing teams highlight reels,” one person wrote in response to the post.
Colorado Buffaloes went 4-8 in Sanders’ first year with the program.
It was the first year in the program for Shedeur, who came to Colorado with his father, NFL legend Deion Sanders, last year.
Sanders threw for 4,230 yards last season and 27 touchdowns while being sacked over 50 times by opposing teams.
He also had a 69.3 percent completion rate.
Sanders’ new song may have been the talk of social media on Tuesday, but he also found himself making headlines recently after he took a shot at defensive back transfer Xavier Smith, who had been quoted in an article by The Athletic about how Deion Sanders ran some players out of the Colorado football program after he was hired last year.
“Ion even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best,” Sanders wrote on X.
Sanders will return to Colorado this season and is expected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
