Second chances don’t always lead to positive results.

Colorado’s third-string quarterback Gavin Kuld had one of his passes in the third quarter of the team’s 56-14 loss to Washington State on Saturday night batted back to him, and he decided to throw it again.

His ill-advised decision was twofold.

Kuld’s second pass was intercepted by Taariq Al-Uqdah, who returned it 10 yards.

The pass was additionally illegal anyway, two forward passes on the same play is not allowed.

Washington State declined the penalty.

Kuld was forced to enter the game after Shadeur Sanders exited with what appeared to be a wrist injury.

Kuld, a walk-on rotated possessions with backup Ryan Staub.

The interception was just one of many lowlights in yet another embarrassing performance for Colorado.

Saturday’s loss dropped Colorado to 4-7 and 1-7 in the conference, and the school is currently dead last in the Pac-12.

Head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffalos took the college football world by storm after winning their first three games in his first year in charge, but have lost seven of eight since.

“We’re falling short of what we’re capable of, that’s the part of this that’s tough to digest,” Deion Sanders said after the game. “We’ve got high expectations here, so this is tremendously disappointing. … They came to play from start to finish. They executed early, they executed often, they came to play. And with Shedeur out on top of that, it was tough.”

Shadeur Sanders’ injury has emerged as a new concern for the Buffalos as well.

He experienced numbness in his hand after taking a big hit, Deion Sanders said after the game.

Kuld completed just 1-of-3 passes for 22 yards and the interception.

It was the first time this season he threw a pass.
