Consultmed moving its e-referral software to InterSystems’s IRIS for Health and more briefs

Consultmed to replatform to InterSystems’ IRIS for Health

Consultmed is moving its referral management software to InterSystems IRIS for Health data platform.

The move comes as the health IT provider looks to “do integrations at scale.” Hosted on Microsoft Azure, Consultmed enables referral management, virtual triage, Advice & Guidance, secure messaging, digital patient forms, requests for admission, and digitisation of paper referrals using AI. It is currently used by over 15,000 health professionals and implemented in 14 hospitals in Australia.

Replatforming to IRIS for Health, which supports major EMRs like the InterSystems TrakCare, will also make Consultmed more competitive in the market, founder and CEO Vikram Palit claimed.

Clanwilliam launches ANZ division

Healthcare technology and services group Clanwilliam from South Africa has officially launched its division in Australia-New Zealand.

The division comprises four health IT products used in over 50,000 healthcare settings across the region – HealthLink Secure Messaging, insurers’ medical information request platform Konnect NET, Toniq pharmacy software, and anaesthetic private practice software MBS.

The HealthLink and Konnect NET merger in 2020 has provided the structure for Clanwilliam’s expanding ANZ portfolio, the company noted in a media release. “The creation of our ANZ division further reinforces our commitment to driving digital innovation in the region, and developing technology to help address current and future challenges in line with national health strategies,” said founder and CEO Howard Beggs.

GP is Telstra Health’s new clinical director

Telstra Health has named Dr Janice Tan, a New South Wales general practitioner, its new clinical director.

Dr Tan has held various positions, including as a clinical consultant, a regional medical director, and a clinical representative, for different organisations. She currently serves as the deputy chair of the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network Clinical Council.

She will lead the clinical safety and culture across Telstra Health’s primary care, community care, and portfolio of solutions, platforms, and services.

“I am looking forward to bringing my expertise to this new role and working alongside the wealth of health and technology specialists within the team to help improve the delivery of care and support the patient journey,” Dr Tan said about her appointment.

Harrison.ai merges with radiology venture

Harrison.ai has announced its merger with its radiology venture, Annalise.ai.

It will be helmed by Harrison’s co-founders Dr Aengus Tran and Dimitry Tran as CEO and deputy CEO, respectively.

Annalise.ai was a venture established in 2020 between Harrison and the private diagnostic imaging network I-MED Radiology. Its flagship product, Annalise Enterprise CXR, uses AI to identify up to 124 findings in chest X-rays.

“As a combined business, we look to continue expanding to meet the evolving needs of our customers and partners, across key markets in the United Kingdom, EMEA, Asia and the Americas. We also look forward to the continued partnership with I-MED Radiology Network as a Harrison shareholder and board member.”

Canada-Australia partnership for advanced patient flow management

Alcidion and Canadian healthcare software company Novari Health are collaborating to offer advanced patient flow management capabilities to their customers, specifically helping address delays in care.

Based on their media release, their strategic partnership will allow their users to “liberate data, drive operational efficiencies, and reduce waiting times across the care continuum.”

Novari’s cloud-based Access to Care features modules for surgical waitlist management, referral management, central intake, and care coordination while Alcidion’s electronic patient journey boards provide a comprehensive view of patient, ward, site, and health service capacity and demand in near real-time.

Smart Forms coming to MediRecords

Cloud-based practice management application MediRecords is expanding its range of clinical templates by deploying CSIRO’s open-source Smart Forms.

The Australian government-commissioned Smart Forms, which conform to the HL7 FHIR Structured Data Capture and SMART App Launch Implementation Guides, facilitate health information exchange and ensure seamless interoperability between clinical systems and applications.

MediRecords is adopting the technology to help its clinician users streamline patient data capture and simplify data access for research and analysis.

Starting this month, the Falls Risks Assessment Smart Form will come to MediRecords; it will be followed by the introduction of Inpatient Admissions and Primary Care Assessments forms.
