Daniel Vogelbach has another big league job.
But it’s not on an active roster.
The ex-Mets designated hitter landed a special assistant to the hitting department position with the Pirates, according to multiple reports.
He follows new Pirates hitting coach Matt Hague, who was an assistant hitting coach with Toronto last season.
Vogelbach spent the first half of the 2024 season with the Blue Jays, stepping up to the plate just 79 times and hitting .186/.278/.300 with one home run before being designated for assignment in June.
The 32-year-old is apparently done playing — for now — less than three seasons after he became a fan favorite in Queens following a trade to the Mets from the Pirates before the 2022 trade deadline.
In the final two months of that season, Vogelbach hit six homers with an .830 OPS to help the Mets to their first playoff berth in six seasons.
Things went south for Vogelbach in 2023 when he hit .203/.343/.297 with just two home runs and 14 RBIs before he was given a mental break from the game in mid-June.
“I didn’t produce the way that I could’ve produced,” Vogelbach said after returning from his hiatus. “At the end of the day, the name of the game is winning. If I’m not gonna do my part to help the team win, then somebody else can. That’s why you put in the work, and do what you can to help this team win.”
He finished the season with 13 homers and a .742 OPS.
The Mets later non-tendered the left-handed hitting bat.
In 10 seasons in the majors, Vogelbach has bounced around, having stints with the Mariners, Brewers, Blue Jays, Pirates and Mets.
