The Sanders show won’t be leaving Colorado any time soon.
Head coach Deion Sanders shot down rumors last week that he might jump to the NFL after the instant success he’s enjoyed turning around the No. 19 Buffaloes, who are 3-0.
Part of that winning formula involves his sons: quarterback Shedeur Sanders and safety Shilo Sanders.
Much like their Hall of Fame father, the Sanders sons will be back in Boulder next year.
Both players will be eligible to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft, according to For The Win.
All three attended Sunday’s NFL game between the Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders.
The Commanders rallied for a 35-33 road victory in Denver.
While sitting in a box, the topic of his sons going pro was broached.
In Prime Time style, Sanders shut that down. Quick.
“Shilo said, ‘Oh, wow, Shedeur, look. You gonna be in the NFL next year,” Sanders recounted.
“I said, ‘No, he ain’t.’… You all ain’t going nowhere.’”
Shedeur has received early support for the Heisman Trophy and is being touted as a potential first-round pick.
Among those helping him improve his game is seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, who’s stayed in touch with Sanders the last couple of years and provided Shedeur with mentoring.
Shedeur is second in the nation with 1,251 passing yards and seventh with 10 passing touchdowns.
Sanders and the Buffaloes open Pac-12 play Saturday, and it won’t be easy.
First up is No. 10 Oregon, followed by No. 5 USC.
