Dwight Howard took to social media with a video addressing “haters online” after the former NBA player denied sexual assault and battery allegations stemming from a July 2021 incident with another man, according to court documents obtained by The Post on Wednesday.
Howard, who currently plays in the Taiwanese pro basketball league, seemingly trolled the situation in a TikTok video, which showed him pretending to take a phone call while viciously typing on a keyboard.
“How they want me to respond to the haters online,” the 37-year-old Howard wrote with a crying-laughing emoji over the clip.
In a separate TikTok video, Howard was seen standing behind a massive lion while making a fierce facial expression.
He posted the video in response to one TikTok user, who commented, “We just wanna know who kitty is.”
That seemed to be a reference to Howard’s current legal situation.
In the civil lawsuit, the 18-year NBA veteran said he engaged in “consensual sexual activity” with a man named Stephen Harper, but denied causing any injury to Harper while they were at Howard’s Georgia home in July 2021.
Howard also denied allegations of “intentional infliction of emotional distress” and “false imprisonment” as stated in the civil lawsuit.
In his initial complaint, which was obtained by Radar Online, Harper alleged that Howard surprised him by bringing out a man dressed as a woman who called himself “Kitty.”
Howard claimed in the court documents that he and Harper removed their clothing and “engaged in consensual kissing” in his bedroom during the July 2021 encounter — and that Harper was aware “Kitty” would be at the Georgia residence.
Harper said in his complaint that Howard wanted a threesome, but he [Harper] was uncomfortable and did not want to participate.
When Harper asked Howard to stop, the former NBA player told him he “was going. to do whatever” and he was “going to like it,” according to the court documents obtained by Radar Online.
In his response to Harper’s complaint, Howard admitted to someone named “Kitty” arriving at his home, and that Harper was aware.
Howard’s response also includes that he “affirmatively states that the three agreed to touch one another and to engage in consensual sexual activity.”
Harper’s lawyers said the encounter occurred after Harper initiated communication with Howard over direct messages on Instagram in May 2021, according to ESPN.
An attorney for Howard said his client is looking forward to “presenting the truth” in court.
“What was a private consensual encounter was made public for profit and Mr. Howard looks forward to bringing the truth to light in a court of law,” Justin Bailey, one of Howard’s attorneys, told ESPN. “The allegations against Mr. Howard are contested. Mr. Howard intends to present the truth….
“Despite being an easy target due to the subject matter and his status as a celebrity, Mr. Howard chose to trust in the justice system and will rely on all future court filings to speak for themselves.”
Howard allegedly addressed the situation on Instagram Live, telling those concerned about what’s going on in his bed to “mind your business.”
“Y’all can stop with the nonsense and worrying about all this bull crap,” Howard can be heard saying in a video posted by “JumpmanGerm” on YouTube.
“Y’all are worried about who people spend their time with. Whatever I’m doing in my bedroom is my damn business… That ain’t for everybody and everybody don’t need to know… y’all just weird.”
