TORONTO — After being sidelined since the end of Summer League – missing training camp and most of the preseason – Brooklyn’s Egor Demin will finally get to make his delayed debut Friday night against the Raptors.
But both the Nets and their first lottery pick in 15 years are trying to avoid heaping too much pressure on the teenager.
“You know, there’s going to be a moment of just getting back to the rhythm,” Demin told the Post. “Obviously, four practices back is not the same as the rest of the group that was practicing for two months straight, right?
“And for me, I’m approaching it in a way of learning and getting back to the conditions, and just kind of getting back to the group, really trying to understand who is who and why we are doing it in general. So for me, I’m not trying (to overthink). I’m going to try to play my best, but I’m not trying to save the world. I’m trying to really get back to the rhythm. I’ll say that.”
