ANAHEIM, Calif. — Noah Laba’s “welcome to the NHL” moment hit him like a freight train.
That freight train’s name was Tom Wilson.
The notorious Capitals agitator upended the Rangers rookie in the neutral zone in the second period of a 1-1 game in Washington at the end of last month. Laba was still doubled over on the ice in pain as Wilson capped the sequence with a go-ahead goal in the eventual 6-3 Capitals victory.
“Especially him scoring after, too,” Laba told The Post before the Rangers took on the Ducks at Honda Center on Monday night. “It’s kind of just like, ‘What just happened?’ A lot of respect for him, and it was a clean hit. I just have to be more aware and get my head up in those situations.”
