Saints tight end Foster Moreau knew he should have had the catch, which would have likely tied the game in the closing seconds on “Thursday Night Football” against the visiting Jaguars.
With the Saints down by seven points and inside the red zone with 30 seconds left, quarterback Derek Carr had Moreau wide open in the corner of the end zone for what should have been a score that would’ve put New Orleans an extra point away from tying the game.
Instead, the pass hit off the fingertips of Moreau and dropped incomplete.
The Saints went for it on fourth down but turned the ball over on downs when Carr threw another incompletion in the direction of Chris Olave, and the Jaguars came away with a 31-24 win.
The body language from Moreau after he dropped the pass said it all as he looked devastated on the bench.
The Amazon broadcast captured Moreau with his head in his hands and then being consoled by his teammates on the bench.

A number of Saints came over and put their arms around him or appeared to try and give him words of encouragement.
Saints team reporter Erin Summers reported that Moreau remained on the bench postgame, and fellow tight end Juwan Johnson had his arm around him.
Eventually, star running back Alvin Kamara went over to Moreau and walked with him to the locker room.
“It doesn’t come down to one play,” Carr said. “There’s so many things that we could have done.”
The loss dropped the Saints to 3-4 on the season, while the Jaguars moved to 5-2.
Moreau had three catches on four targets for 33 yards on Thursday against the Jaguars.
Going into the Week 7 matchup, the tight end had seven receptions for 59 yards and one touchdown.
Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma during the offseason, and three months later, he announced that his cancer was in full remission.
