DETROIT — Take it from someone who was there: Cam Skattebo was never in any danger of re-injuring his surgically repaired right ankle during the “Monday Night Raw’’ WWE card at Madison Square Garden.

Skattebo, on season-ending injured reserve, got into a “heated’’ exchange with Dominik Mysterio, with the rookie running back shoving the wrestler and in turn getting shoved back.

“We had guys literally right behind him,’’ rookie wide receiver and special teamer Dalen Cambre told The Post “We didn’t know exactly what was going to happen, they just said be behind Cam. There’s no way he could have fallen back, and he couldn’t have fallen forward either because they had the railing there.

“You could tell they were acting, it was all rah-rah, they made it look like they were mad but they really weren’t.’’

Cambre, a native of Louisiana, attended the event as part of the Giants’ player engagement efforts and was thrilled to see the Garden for the first time.

Cambre, Skattebo, Abdul Carter and other teammates were briefed before showtime as to how the script would reveal itself.

“They told us they were kind of getting in the face of the comedian [Andrew] Schultz next to us, then they’re gonna push Schultz down, and then Cam’s gonna put his arm out and stand up, and then they’re gonna get in Cam’s face and Cam’s gonna push him,’’ Cambre said. “And they said Cam stands up, we just all stand behind him and have his back.

“They kind of gave Cam a push but nothing meaningful enough and with power behind it. It looks like it but we had guys right behind him, it looks like it’s coming from all over the place but it’s really not coming with any power or any force. I don’t think it was a real shove, he definitely pulled a LeBron [James] or a fake fall or something like that.’’

Cambre, an undrafted rookie, was on the practice squad most of the season and made his NFL debut last week in the loss to the Packers.

Interim head coach Mike Kafka spent his first five years as an NFL assistant with the Chiefs, making him a branch of the Andy Reid coaching tree.

Now that Kafka is running the show for the Giants, he is free to make changes to the practice schedule.

One such change was to moved the special teams period on Fridays to the start of practice, allowing the offense and defense to work afterward without interruption.

“Yeah, I took that from Kansas City,’’ Kafka said. “It’s just a way just to kind of break up the little bit of flow of practice and start the special teams unit. It’s just a little bit different flow, not that there’s a right or wrong way to do it, just something just to mix it up a little. Thought it would be cool for the guys to go through it.’’

WR Cambre and LB Swayze Bozeman were elevated from the practice squad.

RB Eric Gray was activated off injured reserve and is set to make his season debut.

Rookie TE Thomas Fidone (foot) was placed on IR.
