You can’t keep the Cavinder twins apart.
One day after Hanna Cavinder announced her un-retirement from basketball to rejoin Miami’s women’s basketball team for next season, Haley Cavinder revealed that she will join her.
“Given the news that my sister was returning to play ball at Miami and after careful consideration and thought, I’ve decided to return to the University of Miami and play with Hannah for our final and 5th year,” Haley wrote on X on Thursday.
“There is nothing more important than family and the bond I share with my Twin sister. Being presented with the opportunity to play together one more time is something I cannot pass up. I am excited for this upcoming season and can’t wait to play at the U.”
Haley had previously announced in November that she would be playing at TCU next season.
She averaged 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game at Miami in the 2022-23 season.
She also shot nearly 90 percent from the free-throw line.
Miami upset Indiana, the No. 1 seed in their region, in 2023 March Madness en route to the Elite Eight, before ultimately losing to LSU, the eventual champions of the tournament.
The Cavinder twins played their first three seasons of college basketball at Fresno State.
They each have a fifth year of eligibility due to NCAA COVID-19 regulations.
The twins have millions of followers on social media, and have been highly marketable in the NIL era as a result of their prowess on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
As of last June, the two had reportedly grossed $2 million in NIL deals.
The following month, they appeared on “WWE SmackDown” and teased a future with the pro wrestling promotion.
The news hasn’t been all bad for TCU on Tuesday, as it was reported the same day that star LSU guard Hailey Van Lith will be transferring there for next season.
