After going all in on live sports, Prime Video is also bolstering its selection of sports documentaries and docu-series with the premiere of its newest: “The Money Game,” which is streaming now.

“The Money Game” is an all-access look inside athletics at Louisiana State University as new NIL (name, image, likeness) rights are granted to student-athletes, allowing them to earn compensation from endorsements and more while still maintaining amateur athlete status.

As one of the most recognizable brands in college athletics, LSU athletes took advantage of new NIL policies, with three of the top 10 collegiate NIL earners coming from the Tigers.

The documentary series, now available to stream, follows six of them throughout the 2023-2024 school year.

How to watch ‘The Money Game’ for free:

“The Money Game” is an Amazon Original, meaning it’s exclusive to Prime Video, so you’ll need a subscription to watch. Luckily, if you aren’t already a subscriber, you’ll be able to watch the series for free after becoming one.

All new Amazon Prime subscribers get a 30-day free trial to test out all the membership has to offer, including access to the Prime Video streaming service.

After the free trial, Amazon Prime costs $14.99/month or $139.00/year.

Which LSU athletes are featured on ‘The Money Game?’

WNBA rookie phenom Angel Reese is among the athletes featured in “The Money Game.” You can also expect to see:

  • Livvy Dunne, LSU gymnast and social media influencer
  • Flau’jae Johnson, LSU women’s basketball player and Roc Nation rapper
  • Jayden Daniels, LSU football player and current quarterback of the Washington Commanders
  • Trace Young, LSU basketball player
  • Alia Armstrong, LSU hurdler

‘The Money Game’ episode guide:

There are six episodes of “The Money Game” all available to stream now.

  • Episode 1: “The Wild West” – “Name, Image, and Likeness has turned many college athletes into celebrities. But fame and fortune won’t shield them from the pressure of competition. Social media phenom and gymnast Olivia Dunne longs to win a championship in her senior year. Meanwhile, quarterback Jayden Daniels has his NFL dreams and the hopes of all Louisiana on his shoulders ahead of a showdown with archrival Alabama.”
  • Episode 2: “The Price Just Went Up” – “LSU’s student-athletes ride a roller-coaster of success and failure under public scrutiny that starts to take its toll. Star quarterback Jayden Daniels finds his Heisman hopes slipping away. In the spotlight of the increasingly popular women’s game, basketball stars Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson navigate newfound fame. But can they recapture the magic of last year’s championship season?”
  • Episode 3: “You Can’t See Me” – “Olivia Dunne and LSU gymnastics try to build early momentum for a championship run. With her eyes trained on the Olympics ahead, Alia Armstrong finds her senior season threatened by a nagging injury. And drama swirls in Baton Rouge as a mysterious absence from the women’s basketball team leads to a firestorm of controversy.”
  • Episode 4: “Not Just An Athlete” – “Winter is coming and the Heisman ceremony draws near. Now firmly in contention, Jayden Daniels tries to secure his NFL dreams in his final college game. Angel Reese returns to game action with bold performances on the court and in the press. Like Angel, Olivia Dunne navigates the dark side of the Internet as gender disparities emerge in the NIL era.”
  • Episode 5: “The Bag Man” – “An undercurrent of competitive fundraising swirls below the surface of NIL in the form of booster collectives. As mountains of money flow into college sports, Angel Reese weighs whether to declare for the WNBA or return to school and stack her chips. Fighting for a starting spot on a loaded roster, Olivia Dunne proves her worth on the mat. And Alia Armstrong’s NIL game gets an unexpected boost.”
  • Episode 6: “Love of the Game” – “The NIL landscape continues to change at a breakneck pace as court cases upend the status quo. As LSU scrambles to keep up with the changes, its athletes face their greatest hurdles. Angel Reese and LSU head into a postseason rematch with Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Olivia Dunne competes for an SEC title. And Jayden Daniels anxiously awaits his fate in the NFL draft.”
