The acrobats and flips for cheerleaders are challenging when everything goes well.
But when there’s a wardrobe malfunction, sticking the landing can be even more impressive.
During a break in the action during the Iowa Hawkeyes 41-10 win over Western Michigan on Saturday, an Iowa cheerleader was performing a cartwheel/backhand spring/360-degree backflip across one of the end zones in front of the home crowd in Iowa City.
But midway through his flip, his pants fell down, drawing gasps from the crowd.
To his credit, he stuck the landing and quickly pulled up his pants while running back to his cheerleading section, where some of his teammates couldn’t help but laugh.
It was a laugher all the way around for Iowa, who improved to 3-0.
But it gets tougher for the No. 25 Hawkeyes next Saturday night as they face the No. 7 Penn State Lions on the road at Happy Valley.
