Travis Kelce and the Chiefs came out on top Sunday in their divisional round playoff win over the Bills, but the tight end’s older brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce, was the game’s true MVP.
While taking in Kansas City’s 27-24 victory, a shirtless Jason could be seen holding a young Bills fan outside of his Highmark Stadium suite so Travis’ girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift, could get a glimpse of the supporter’s sign.
The Bills fan could also be seen waving to those inside the suite, where Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, was sitting.
Jason, who had gotten chummy with Bills Mafia at a tailgate earlier in the day, also posed for photos with fans at the stadium.
The Super Bowl champion, 36, let loose with loved ones over the weekend following Philadelphia’s embarrassing playoff ouster last Monday.
The Eagles, who started the season 10-1, collapsed down the stretch and fell to the Buccaneers in the wild-card round, 32-9, in what many believed could be Jason’s final NFL game.
The longtime center addressed the retirement buzz on Wednesday’s installment of his “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with Travis, 34.
“When it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it’ll be done in a way that’s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me and what has led to the career I’ve had, and I don’t think it would be respectful or even accurate to be able to do that right after a game like that,” Jason said.
The Eagles veteran then elaborated on what he told the locker room amid previous reports suggesting he shared retirement intentions with his teammates.
“I did address the team and pretty much said the same thing I just said to you, which is I got belief in every single one of you guys, cherish the moments you have in this league, I think it’s kind of the way it went down,” Jason said.
Travis, whose Chiefs will now travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens in next Sunday’s AFC Championship game, told reporters Friday that Jason has “still got some football left if he wants it.”
Jason has spent his entire 13-season career in Philadelphia.
He and wife Kylie share three young daughters: Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 2, and 11-month-old Bennett.
