Jason Kelce may be nearing a decision on his NFL future in the “next couple weeks.”
All eyes have been on the Kelce family this season and in particular over the past week during the Super Bowl festivities in Las Vegas.
But Kelce has remained tight-lipped about whether he’ll return to play next season after the Eagles were unceremoniously eliminated from the postseason by the Buccaneers in the Wild Card round.
While a report surfaced after the Wild Card Round loss that Kelce had told his teammates he was retiring, Kelce has not made any official announcement and has said he hadn’t actually made any decision.
“Still figuring it out,” Kelce told Shaquille O’Neal on “The Big Podcast with Shaq” Monday. “I think if I still want to play, I’m going to play. I think right now we’re not far enough away from the last game. It’s emotional, it’s a long season, the end of the season quite frankly, awful. So I’m just going to take some time, rest, recoup and then figure it out.
“I think I’ll have an answer in the next couple weeks.”
Kelce may have hinted at what he’s trying to do during Pro Bowl weekend in Orlando.
A TikTok went viral appearing to show him telling a fan that “I’m gonna try not to” when they pleaded with him not to retire.
Travis Kelce addressed his brother’s future as well during Super Bowl week, saying that “I think it’s still up in the air” in regards to any decision.
Kelce received plenty of attention during his jaunt to Sin City to support his brother and the Chiefs.
But it appeared it also was a business trip for the elder Kelce brother as well.
He met with ESPN and Fox to discuss his potential opportunities in broadcasting after he ends his playing career, Front Office Sports had reported.
