With about two weeks until the baseball season gets underway, the Yankees have some new questions marks.

What’s going on with Aaron Judge? And just how much time is their ace Gerrit Cole going to miss? Do they need to go sign a starting pitcher?

And one team that let a starting pitcher go to the Yankees in free agency was the Cubs.

They made some intriguing moves this offseason, including the addition of Japanese pitcher Shota Imanaga.

Their president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer joined Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman on “The Show” podcast this week.

The guys also react to the Yankees injuries and what the plan should be.

‘The Show’ podcast with Joel Sherman & Jon Heyman:

  • YANKEES INJURIES: What’s going on with Gerrit Cole and Aaron Judge? The Yankees have not had many definitive updates on both the injuries. Looks like Cole won’t be ready for Opening Day. Yankees need to add some depth before the season starts. They need to get a starting pitcher.

Jed Hoyer Interview:
Cubs president of baseball operations

  • CRAIG COUNSELL: Adds a lot to their team and what they are trying to do. Believes it was worth it. Time will tell. It takes time with a manager.
  • JAMESON TAILLON: Will be slowed a bit into the season. Always looking for potential additions, but this seems to be the group they go with.
  • MARCUS STROMAN DEPARTURE: Liked him as a pitcher. He made the right call financially. Had no issues with him. He likes the big stage.
  • FIRST BASE AND THIRD BASE: What will they do at both positions?
  • PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG: If they didn’t bring Cody Bellinger back, he probably would have been their center fielder. Expects him to be part of 2024 team and have an impact.
