Jimmy Butler allegedly left Miami home in ‘complete disrepair’: lawsuit

It looks like Jimmy Butler’s drama in Miami is still haunting him despite his recent move across the country.

Butler, 35, is reportedly being sued for over $250,000 over a property he previously used from 2022-24 while he was a member of the Heat.

The Warriors forward has been accused by Five Star Marketing and Promotions for allegedly damaging the property, not paying two months’ worth of rent and not granting the owner access to conduct inspections, according to multiple reports.

Court documents obtained by WPLG 10 in Miami state that Butler allegedly caused $125,000 in damages from mold issues, damaged drywall and flooring, a broken HVAC system and an unmaintained pool.

According to the Miami Herald, Butler allegedly left the 5,398-square-foot home in “complete disrepair.”

Five Star also alleges that Butler stayed in the Miami Beach home for two months following the expiration of his lease in August 2024.

According to the lawsuit, Butler signed the lease in August 2022.

Butler is being sued by Five Star for a total of $257,282, which includes two months’ rent and property damages.

Five Star also claimed it was legally entitled to apply Butler’s $130,000 security deposit to his outstanding balance.

The lawsuit comes less than a month after Butler was traded to the Warriors, ending a season-long feud between him and the Heat.

Butler’s dispute with Miami saw the team suspend him multiple times for conduct against the Heat.

The six-time All-Star initially requested a trade from the Heat in January, citing that he could not find any “joy” playing for Miami.

“I want to see me get my joy back from playing basketball, and wherever that may be, we’ll find out here pretty soon,” Butler told reporters in January. “I’m happy here off the court, but I want to be back somewhere dominant. I want to hoop, and I want to help this team win. Right now I’m not doing that.”

Amid that drama, Butler reportedly moved into a $70K-a-month residence on Miami Beach’s exclusive Hibiscus Island.
