Joe Benigno unloads as technical difficulties, cat derail podcast

Joe Benigno plus technical difficulties plus a still-recording mic equals podcast gold.

Benigno, the former WFAN host, provided some laugh-out-loud and expletive-filled moments while attempting to deal with a technical issue on his “Oh the Pain” podcast and apparently a meandering cat.

Now, this is the point where we mention that the mic could have been turned off or the podcast edited to remove this segment.

But neither happened and the world benefits.

And then it seems that the cats got involved.

“Come on, come on. Come on, baby, come on. Gotta come up. Let’s go. God damn it,” Benigno seemingly said to his cat. “Come on. Come on. Come on. God damn it. F–king thing, and then stopped recording. Why does this thing pop up like that, where it covers the whole screen?”

Benigno’s wife, Terry, seemingly had been attending to the cat, but tried to help diffuse the situation.

“I know, hun. I know. I don’t know,” Terry said. “Sometimes we get these pop-ups.”

Benigno then alternated between technical and cat dialogue.

“There’s no reason for it. Ugh. Is he going up, hun? Ugh. I can’t take it,” Benigno said. “Here, I’m coming. Is he up? Unbelievable, I got to do this again?”

The proceedings became downright comical when Benigno began coughing or hacking up to clear his voice before he could resume.

Terry then saved the day.

“Alright, hold on. Cancel,” Terry said. “Alright, it’s going.”

“Alright, we’re back,” Benigno said. “We had a little glitch here, so we want to apologize for everybody. Benigno, the ‘Oh, the pain’ podcast. Let’s get back to where we were. We were talking about (Joel) Embiid and how overrated he is.”

The “Boomer and Gio” crew had a field day with the segment, laughing wildly while they broke down the different segments of Benigno’s reaction, particularly his unpleasant sounds.
