Now that’s how you introduce yourself.
Running back Kene Nwangwu had an explosive Jets debut Sunday with a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to give Gang Green a 21-7 lead over the Seahawks in the second quarter.
It was his fourth career kick-return score.
Nwangwu, 26, was elevated from the practice squad on Saturday.
He was originally drafted in the fourth round by the Vikings in 2021.
Minnesota waived him over the summer.
Nwangwu signed with the Jets’ practice squad in September.
It was a wild first half at MetLife Stadium, with Seahawks defensive end Leonard Williams — formerly of the Jets and the Giants — scoring a touchdown off an Aaron Rodgers’ interception to cut the Jets’ lead to 21-13.
The Jets are coming off the bye week and are hoping to salvage what’s been a disappointing 3-8 season that has seen the dismissals of head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas.
The Seahawks entered the Week 13 contest at 6-5.
The Jets led at halftime, 21-16.
