Ex-NFL player Le’Veon Bell is on such a cold streak that even Kyrie Irving’s impressive scoring run couldn’t land him a winning wager.
Bell took to X knowing his poor betting luck may put the kibosh on Irving’s epic five-game stretch averaging 37.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game.
“I could place a bet right now and end all this s–t,” Bell wrote on Tuesday, implying he could single-handedly do what NBA teams could not and cool off the Mavericks star.
On Wednesday, Bell’s kiss of death predictably came to fruition when the Mavericks faced the Lakers.
Irving posted a brutal line Wednesday, posting 12 points, six assists and five rebounds on 4-for-16 shooting in 32 minutes.
This was Irving’s lowest point total in a game this season where he has played at least 14 minutes.
“Lol told you .. & my bad Kyrie, I just had to make my point,” Bell posted on X after Irving’s terrible night. “It wasn’t yo fault.”
The Mavericks’ star point guard had an over/under point total of 27.5 points on FanDuel Sportsbook, which he did not come close to clearing.
The Lakers beat the Mavericks in dominating fashion Wednesday, 127-110.
Irving had flirted with the idea of teaming up with the Lakers over the past year, confirmed by ESPN reports staing Irving attended multiple Lakers home playoff games last season with the intention of making it known he wanted to play with James again.
Betting on the NBA?
Perhaps it was the idea of playing in Los Angeles again alongside James that led to Irving’s rough night at the office, or maybe it was a true jinx by the ex-Jets running back.
