It appears that potential buyers of Sellers will have to look elsewhere for a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft.

South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers, currently ranked third by Mel Kiper Jr. among quarterback prospects for next year’s draft, is “nearing a deal to return” to the SEC school next season, ESPN reported Saturday.

“Sellers has indicated to his coaches he’ll return for his redshirt junior season, and the sides are expected to finalize a deal soon,” the report stated.

The 6-foot-3 Sellers has started 12 games in each of the past two seasons for the Gamecocks, with 31 touchdown passes, 13 rushing TDs and 15 interceptions.

Following a Citrus Bowl appearance one year ago — with Sellers named Freshman Offensive Player of the Year — South Carolina finished this season with a disappointing 4-8 record under head coach Shane Beamer, including seven losses in eight games in conference play.
