It didn’t take long for Carlos Mendoza to earn his first suspension as Mets manager.
Mendoza and Yohan Ramirez were disciplined and fined Sunday after Ramirez threw behind Milwaukee’s Rhys Hoskins during Saturday’s game at Citi Field, with Mendoza serving his ban Sunday and Ramirez appealing his three-game suspension.
The ruling came after Hoskins angered the Mets with a controversial slide into second base on Friday, which caused Jeff McNeil to yell at Hoskins and for the benches to clear.
This is a developing story; check back for updates.
