The Mets’ rotation is receiving a boost with Kodai Senga returning Friday but their bullpen suffered a big loss and is receiving a shakeup.
Emerging reliever Dedniel Nunez landed on the injured list after he suffered a right pronator strain, the team announced Friday.

Meanwhile, veteran righty Adrian Houser, who is 1-5 with a 5.84 ERA this season, has been designated for assignment.
The Mets also DFA’d reliever Shintaro Fujinami, who did not pitch for them this year but threw 16 1/3 innings for minor-league affiliates.
Eric Orze has been called up to fill Nunez’s spot in the bullpen.

The Mets are 54-48 this season and would qualify for an NL Wild Card slot if the season ended today.
